A Firle Place Wedding

Bride and groom on steps at Firle Place wedding

Ah, the super gorgeous Ely and Rob and their super stunning Firle Place wedding.

I knew from the first time chatting with Ely and Rob that this would be a fantastic wedding and I was so so chuffed when the asked me to spend the day with them and photograph all the goings on.

Starting with a super morning at Wingrove House in Alfriston village where Ely was getting ready with her mum and girlie squad. Joining me for the day capturing the day in motion was the super talented and lovely Nathaniel from up&above Ltd and the gorgeous Viki Lawson on bride and bridesmaids hair and make-up.

With all the girls looking fabulous I headed to Firle Place and made my though the grounds  and over to St Peters Church, set within  the beautiful Firle Village.

A lovely little church with a wonderful and slightly eccentric vicar. Ceremony over and it was time for the wedding guests to walk back through to Firle Place. A little confetti along the way before enjoying a drink or 2 on the lawns at the front of the house. With perfect weather for the day I spent a while mooching, capturing natural guest shots before embarking on rounding up the main wedding people for some more formal shots. Leaving the guests to wander over to the croquet lawns outside the old riding stables. I held back with Ely and Rob at this time for a few relaxed couple photographs.

I’m not sure where the time goes on a wedding day, it really does fly by, even as wedding photographer the time just disappears. Clearly having too much fun!  Before I knew it the guests were called in for the wedding breakfast and speeches All brilliant and hilarious, I do love a good speech!

After a break for me and refuel of food it was time for the evening party to begin, new guests to capture and a few guests who may or may not have had a few too many wines during dinner to most definitely capture.

Cake cut, first dance complete and all that’s left is a few shots of some drunken dance floor antics before I head home and leave the party in full swing.

I absolutely adore Firle Place, such a perfect blend of elegant,  romantic, English charm but with the added touch of rustic modern in the converted riding stables. Pretty much the epitome of wedding venues in Sussex.
