Hendall Manor Barns Wedding photography

As a wedding photographer I often find myself returning to venues year on year, of which I count myself extremely lucky, as I get to return to venues just like this one on a regular basis. So for this new Venue Spotlight series within my blog I thought I would start with one of my absolute faves - Hendall Manor Barns.

I have photographed numerous weddings at Hendall, in all seasons, and all of them blow my mind and win my heart. From gorgeous summer weddings with all the guests enjoying the South facing terrace, to weddings in the depth of winter where hot mulled wine and gorgeous fur coats take centre stage. I have genuinely loved every wedding I have photographed at Hendall and here is why..

Hendall is such an amazing venue, it is beautifully and discreetly situated down a secluded gorgeous country lane and set within the High Weald area of outstanding natural beauty. Now, If this wasn’t enough to already win you over then you also have a stunning, rustic, yet contemporary, stone barn, perfectly restored to create the perfect space for any wedding in any season.

Most of the weddings I photograph at Hendall see me starting my day in their gorgeous onsite 17th century stone barn cottage. Which is not only a beautiful place for the wedding couple to enjoy their first night of married life but also a great space for the bride and her girlies to get ready on the morning of the wedding.

The main stone barn, adjacent to the cottage, is split over 2 levels, Separating the ceremony / wedding breakfast area at the far end and leaving the top entrance area as a space for guests to mingle on arrival. The barn lends itself to being left in its gorgeous natural state or decorated with fairy lights, drapes and florals, really allowing you to be creative and make the space your own. Huge glass doors at both ends of the barn, create a light and airy feel and both lead out on to the most immaculately kept lawns and raised Southerly terrace. The ultimate space for your guests to enjoy, with plenty of room for kids to play safe and grown ups to sip champagne and dine on fantastic canape.

For a documentary photographer like myself, I love this space as it allows me to move around with so much freedom between the guests, either getting up close and personal or standing back on the sidelines to capture all the laughter and little moments without people realising.

The areas surrounding the barn offer a treasure trove of options for photographers to whisk away the happy couple and their main bridal party for photographs. From the immaculately kept private gardens to the open fields and orchards, and then of course there is the gorgeous pond area and many gravel tree lined paths. It also has to be said that the undercover car park is pretty special too, and a place where I love to take couples later in the evening at dusk or when the weather is too wet to get outside.

Of course, I can’t forget to mention Nicola and Peter, who always go above and beyond to help each and every couple have the wedding of their dreams. With so much knowledge, experience and a love for what they do, any wedding held at Hendall is always a huge success.

So, if you’re looking for a wedding venue like Hendall, do have a watch of the slideshow at the top or scroll through the images below and of course, do head over to Hendall’s own website to find out more..
