2020 Weddings in review - The year of the Micro Wedding
Even though 2020 may not have turned out how I and lots of my lovely couples thought, I did still manage to capture some truly wonderful and imaginative weddings.
2020 was due to be one of my busiest years to date, with multiple weddings booked for familiar wedding venues that I regularly frequent, such as, Hendall Manor Barns, Upwaltham Barns, Grittenham barn and Brookfield barn (yes, I do love a barn wedding) to lots of new and exciting venues and a few DIY at home garden weddings. Unfortunately this year became more about liaising with my utterly wonderful couples about rearranging dates and logistics of how they may possibly be able to have the wedding day they have dreamed of for so long.
I was lucky enough to still be able to capture 8 fantastic small and intimate weddings this year, and actually they have become some of my absolute favourites of all time. Venues I have built great relationships with over the years worked exceptionally hard to rearrange interiors to make them Covid safe whilst still being utterly beautiful and creative with their layouts.
So, 2020 became the year of the micro wedding, or Minimone with another bigger ceremony planned for many couples next year, or when they can. I captured weddings this year at Hendall, Upwaltham, Bartholomew, Horsham and Lewes registry office, and the fantastic Alexander House. I had weddings from 6 guests, up to 30 and then back down to 15 and finished my season at the end of October where I had 4 awesome autumnal Sussex weddings. My favourite!
So here it is, my 2020 end of year review, the weddings may have been smaller, but the love was bigger than ever before! Roll on 2021!!
